Be Involved and Join a Committee
As we finish up our first year as Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Academy, our school board is now working to establish sub-committees. The hope is to establish communication with potential committee members before the end of the current year to form goals and have the committee up and running for the start of the 2016-17 school year.
The Student Life Committee is an essential committee. It will help direct programs that impact the children's social, academic and spiritual lives. Two board members will sit on the committee to act as liasion between the sub-committee and the larger board. The board members would like to have a brief meeting with parents/grand-parents/guardians interested in being part of this committee and the goal setting process. A meeting is planned for tomorrow evening at 7pm in the school library. Please let me know if you are able to attend or if you cannot attend, but want to be involved in future meetings, by emailing me at email@example.com. Apologizes for the short notice, but we very much want to get started and June is on our doorstep. Some families indicated an interest in this committee at the start of the academy transition process, but life changes things and your interest may have changed.
A facilities committee, providing advice and guidance regarding structural and maintenance to the board, will also be formed. Parents with expertise such as: architecture, engineering, construction, security, wiring, electrical etc... would be a great fit here. We are not looking for families to do the work, but your experience could help us prioritize. Additionally, the Institutional Development Committee will help with community and alumni outreach, social media visibility, long and short term marketing and fund raising strategies. An outreach for members will be made before the close of the current school year. Feel free to try out multiple committees to find the fit for you.
